Huge queue, but no surprises when you’re the world’s biggest fashion blog name. Mental note to self, no socks with formal footwear is now cool. I got him to sign with “my blog rocks way more than yours” LOL, what a dude.

What: the UTS fashion students’ end of year show

Top photo made me laugh, if you throw enough styles into one outfit I guess you get a ‘look’. Work influences with tie and glasses but then contradict it with strong colours and assassins gloves. I guess that’s why you get to be a student designer (in this case designer5) to try stuff and see what works and what, um….

Second shot, outfit by designer6 seemd to be based on an industrial work outfit but swapping the overalls for a different material in a wollen smock. Not sure it will save you from coal dust.

Third by designer7. Can a cool Grace Jones look-a-like with bleached hair make up for dull design? What’s that officer? An asymmetrical silhouette, a single shoulder pad, nothing to see here, move along.

Finally the winner of the design awards, designer8 who presented a swimwear range. Some interesting layering and asymmetrical lines, collar guaranteed to catch and camouflage any Oporto sauce.

Top photo a creation from designer1. I put it in because the colours were cool. And you would never get run over. Even at night.

Second shot, a sexy outfit from designer2. There were quite a few cool legging/hosiery creations and they weren’t holding back on the shoes to pair them with.

Designer3’s very inventive alternative to a tie, one of the few creations you might be able to wear out to an opening.

Bottom shot, this was about as risque as it got, an interpretation on business attire by designer4.

What: Handmade flower in hair, Vivienne Westwood Lady Dragon Bubblegum scented shoes (we know, we smellt them!), belt from a $2 shop, singlet from Best and Less, bag Bettie Page clothing.

Great details with this outfit. She says ‘I dress in what makes me feel comfortable’.

What: All handmade by graduating designer Andrea Ho

Lots of detail in these garments, heavy stitching on jeans with screen printing, complex geometric fabric for shirt and double collar coat again with light screen printing.

What: How easy is it to get into the spirit of a Britney concert. This skirt is from Supre, a white shirt from home, something pink for your hair and everyone is lovin’ the effort!

What: shoes Wittner, dress from Myers (ok it was hard to hear in there!)

Wow-inducing amazing colour, and nothing to try to fight with it, accessories were black gloss.

What: dress Blue Juice, shoes Steve Madden

This black and white asymmetrical looks really elegant with snake skin bag.

What: Custom 3 piece suit from Matthew Lawrence

As a boy you need to stand out at the races and a bespoke 3 piece will sure help. Linked to a great contrast shirt with white collar and the right accessories with hat, sunnies and hanky and you’re standing out for the right reasons.
